MADEC to expand with Federal Governments new "Jobs Services Australia" contracts.

After a long wait and meticulous tender and selection process MADEC Australia has been recognised for the positive impact they have had on local businesses and community and have been awarded the Federal Governments contract to deliver job seeker and recruitment services in Sunraysia, Mid Murray, Riverland, Murray Darling NSW, Murraylands SA, Kadina/Clare SA and Adelaide.
MADEC has also regained the national contract to deliver the National Harvest Labour Information Service and as a Harvest labour Services provider in all regions of operation along with a new contract to deliver harvest services in McLaren Vale SA.
The Minister for Employment Participation, Mr Brendan O’Connor yesterday announced the overall results for the Rudd Government’s $4 billion new employment services to be named “Job Services Australia, People, Skills and Jobs”.
MADEC CEO Pat Thorburn said “the new Job Services Australia contract allows MADEC to continue to work closely with local industry and the community to identify skills shortages, followed by training and the recruitment and placement of job ready employees”.
“MADEC is a community focussed organisation that primarily exists for the benefit of the communities we work and live in, we have an investment in seeing these communities prosper” Ms Thorburn said. .
The federal Government believes the new Job Services Australia which commences on July 1 will deliver a better, more personalised service that responds to all economic conditions.
Job seekers will receive an individual employment Pathway Plan, which can include literacy and numeracy programs. Work experience; help with resumes, trade equipment and training.
Ms Thorburn said, “We will be working hard in the coming months including recruitment, training of new and existing staff and the setting up of 6 new sites. This new contract further cements MADEC as a provider of choice to provide job seekers with the skills they need to work, and to provide industry with skilled workers, this is a priority that the current economic climate demands”.
MADEC Australia is a not for profit community organisation established in 1969 in Mildura, providing a range of community, employment and training services. MADEC currently operates in 3 states over 15 sites employing in excess of 200 staff.
