MADEC provides all year round Harvest Labour services to meet seasonal labour market needs. They supply labour to major harvest areas seeking large numbers of harvest workers to supplement local labour supply.
MADEC now operates 6 Harvest Labour Offices across three states. Harvest Labour Offices in Mildura, Renmark, Wentworth, Robinvale, Swan Hill and McLaren Vale operate all year to alleviate some of the added pressure on growers during peak harvest times.
Harvest Labour Office staff liaise with growers, industry leaders and industry groups to keep up with regional trends and industry needs; communicate with jobseekers outside the region to inform them of available facilities, transport and accommodation; and liaise with other labour services including the National Harvest Labour Information Service, and Job Network Members. This extends to other potential labour sources including universities, Backpacker Hostels and Community Groups.
The Murray Valley Region – Mildura, Swan Hill, Robinvale, Wentworth, Berri
These townships are all situated on the magnificent Murray River, which provides the irrigation water for these lush horticultural areas. The region enjoys more sunshine than the Gold Coast making for an enjoyable working and living environment.
Southern Adelaide Hills – McLaren Vale
McLaren Vale is just 40 kms from Adelaide and is nestled between the Mount Lofty Ranges and the beaches of the Gulf of St Vincent. The region remains one of the most richly diverse and greatly developed areas in Australia, producing a variety of berries, stone fruit and intensely flavoured wine.
