The Department of Employment and Workplace Relations has contracted MADEC to establish a National Harvest Labour Information Service that coordinates and distributes information on harvest labour in Australia .

As growers often have difficulty finding sufficient workers at harvest time, this service helps to match an itinerant pool of workers with variable seasonal work. A diverse range of organisations, growers and job seekers utilise this service.

The National Harvest Labour Information Service is responsible for:

  • Marketing the National Harvest Trail;
  • Developing and publishing an up-to-date National Harvest Guide;
  • Providing a national telephone information service;
  • Coordinating harvest labour vacancies on the Harvest Trail web site;
  • Liaising and establishing networks with growers, grower associations, Harvest Labour Service providers, Job Network members, recruitment agencies and relevant government departments at the local, state and national level;
  • Maintaining a feedback and complaints system.
The National Harvest Labour Information Service consists of three components, being:
  • The National Harvest Information Telephone Services (FREECALL 1800 062 332);
  • The National Harvest Guide
  • The Harvest Trail Guide
Information on each can be found by following the links on the right.
